A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Haleigh began her violin studies at the age of 4, and her viola studies at the age of 9.
When she was 10, she became a member of the Quarter Notes String Quartet, and played with them until she was 18 years old.
When she was 12 she was selected as a member of the viola section for the Disney's Young Musician's Symphony Orchestra, and spent two weeks in Los Angeles, California, filming a special that was aired on the Disney Channel.
At age 14 she was selected as a member of the Premier Viola Ensemble, and they were invited as guest performers at the Suzuki Pan Pacific Conference in Dublin, Ireland, and there she studied with violist William Preucil.
At age 16 Haleigh attended the Encore School for Strings, where she studied with Robert Vernon, principle violist of the Cleveland Orchestra.
At age 17, Haleigh was selected as principle violist for the Rocky Mountain String Camerata that spent the summer touring Italy, Switzerland, France, and England.
At age 18 she won the Utah Symphony Youth Guild Competition and was a featured soloist with the Utah Symphony.
Haleigh attended Indiana University under the direction of Alan deVeritch. Here she met her husband Michael. After they were married, Haleigh pursued Suzuki training under the direction of Jeannie Grover.
Haleigh's former teachers include David Dalton, Brigham Young University, and Janet Anderson of Salt Lake City, Utah. Haleigh was also a member of the Young Artist Chamber Players, conducted by Jack Ashton of the Utah Symphony.
